FLAG FOOTBALL

FLAG FOOTBALL

PROGRAM INFORMATION

You might be wondering — “Wait… G League… isn’t that basketball?

Great question — and yes! G League is best known for youth basketball — that’s where we started and what we’ve built our reputation on. Since 2019, we’ve grown into the largest youth basketball program in Sarasota and Manatee County.

As our community has grown, so has the interest in additional sports opportunities. Flag football is one of the fastest-growing youth sports — especially for girls — and it felt like an obvious choice for the next step in growing our G League community.

We’re expanding into Flag Football with the same organized programming, clear structure, and positive experience families have come to expect from G League. If you’re here for flag football, you’re exactly where you should be.

PLAYER EVALUATIONS

*Walk-Ins Welcome

We kick off the start of every season with player evaluations. The purpose of the evaluation is to assess player skill level so that G League Coaches can create evenly balanced teams that are fun and competitive. Keep in mind this is not a tryout. All players that are registered will be assigned to a team. Player evaluations is a MANDATORY event unless you have serious schedule conflict. We ask that all players attend in order to ensure a successful evaluation.

SEASON PLANNING

Season Planning will begin immediately after player evaluations. During this time there will be no practices or games. We utilize our planning week to create teams along with game and practice schedules for the season. We also allow for last minute sign-ups — so if this is your first season with us and you enjoyed player evaluations make sure to tell your friends!!

Once team assignments and schedules are set, parents will be notified via email and will be able access all information through TeamSnap. Parents will need to log-into their TeamSnap account either online or by using the TeamSnap app to view their schedule and team assignment.

TEAMSNAP

TeamSnap is our primary platform for team communication and scheduling. Once league information is published it will populate in the TeamSnap app. We highly recommend downloading the TeamSnap app so that you can easily stay up to date this season. With TeamSnap, you can easily access your players team & practice/game schedule. You can also communicate with members of your team through the app. Your team information will be available in the TeamSnap app by the end of our planning week.

VOLUNTEERS

G League is always looking for volunteers to assist with game day operations such as:

  • Scorekeeping (Clock)

  • Booking (Stats)

  • Coaching

  • Concessions (Coming Soon!)

*Community service hours available for high school volunteers.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please email us directly at info@gleaguehoops.com.
